About this Blog

I’m Dave Bradley, a 72 year old educator of 50 years in multiple settings.  I like to write and I thought maybe a blog would be fun. So, here we are..

We all experience moments that change how we see the world—sometimes in subtle ways, sometimes in life-altering ones. This blog is about those moments. It’s about the way our thinking, our beliefs, and even our sense of self can shift when we take the time to reflect, to learn, and to grow.

I write from the intersection of psychology, education, aging, and spiritual exploration. My background as a Secondary Social Studies teacher and Community College Instructor informs much of what I share, but this isn’t just about the classroom. It’s about the human experience—how we remember, how we interpret, how we change over time.

What to Expect

In Perspective Shifts, you’ll find posts on:

    • The psychology behind how we think, remember, and learn

    • The inner life of teaching—what it really asks of us

    • The quiet wisdom that comes with getting older

    • How spiritual insight can reshape how we understand everyday life

    • And most of all, how reframing can help us move through the world with more clarity, grace, and curiosity

Some posts will be reflective essays. Others will be grounded in research. A few may wander. But they’ll all come from the same place: a desire to look at life with new eyes.

Who I Am

I’m someone who’s always been fascinated by the inner world—our thoughts, emotions, patterns, and blind spots. As a teacher, I’ve seen how the right insight at the right time can open a mind. I’ve seen how our blind spots can close a mind. As a person, I’ve learned (and continue to learn) how important it is to keep evolving my own perspective.

This blog is part of that evolution.

Thanks for being here. I hope you find something that shifts the way you see things—even just a little
